An examination of the daily duties of Christianity — those things that we should keep on doing every day.
In the Bible, the heart of men, that part which thinks, feels and determines, can be put to God's service or can live in rebellion to it. In this study, we examine the prophet's call to "circumcise your hearts."
The old fashioned values of being "Trustworthy, Faithful And Loyal" to God and each other are Biblical values that we should have in abundance. In this study, we examine first how God is faithful and loyal to us. Then see how we must be this way towards others, even when they are not so to us, and that we should not put the loyalty of others to the test unnecessarily.
There is good reason that the Hebrew writer told us not to "forsake your own assembling together." We trust that all of God's instructions are ultimate for our good, but we also understand that sometimes we don't understand what that good is. In the case of assembling together for worship and Bible study their is obvious good. Good in regard to the Lord, in regard to others and in regard to ourselves.
As studying the Red Sea crossing from the perspective of the Egyptians who perished and the Israel who was saved, we now look at the the crossing from the perspective of God, and seeing what His actions were to save His people and bring glory to His name.
An examination of Exodus 14 - the story of the Red Sea Crossing. We see what the scriptures say about the Egyptians, who with hardened hearts, sought to destroy recapture their former slaves and with hindered by God and destroyed. And we examine the people of Israel, as their confidence is quickly overcome by fear, but God delivers them which leads them to believe and to sing.
The 13th Chapter of the Book of Exodus tells the story of the children of Israel of they marched out of Egypt. They marched like they were going to war, but God knew that they weren't real for it, so He provides a way for them to avoid it. They also go remembering the promise made long ago by Joseph, and carried his bones along with them. Study with us as we look to see lessons for us today from this incident.
In this final lesson of our gospel meeting, Don examines how the great statement of Habakkuk applies to us in the New Testament. How true and saving faith is an active and abiding thing and causes us to live and act in a way that our human sight and wisdom would not.
The question, "How do I get closer to God" is often asked, but is actually seldom addressed in the New Testament. In this study, Don examines that concerns that are dealt with in scripture and the things help us build a real relationship with God, and also the reverential distance that is between God and even His most dedicated servants.
We say we want a stronger faith, but in this study, we often find out that knowing the things of God is often quite simple and direct. What we actually really want is something more of the senses and tangible. What we really need is humility and confidence.
An examination of 2 Cor. 5 & 6, considering how and why God's people are to keep separate from the sins of world and the great promises rooted in the Old Testament that God has given to those who do.
Since God requires us to have faith to please Him, what happens when we don't have it. In this study, we examine on what basis we have and develop faith, and how the weakening and rejection of faith are seldom based on impartial examination of the evidence.
The first sermon from our 2017 Gospel Meeting with Don Bunting. In this sermon, he examines that questions and concerns that arise from our trust and confidence that we are living by faith and hoping for salvation in Jesus Christ, but so few around us share that faith. How do we respond to concerns that so many are wrong and lost while we have hope that we are not.
A sermon by one of our church members about the charge Samuel's charge to the people of Israel to keep "The Good And Right Way Of The Lord."
When Moses came to Pharaoh asking to take the people of Israel to the wilderness to serve God, Pharaoh rebuffed him, saying that their work was more important than worship. Then as the plagues came, Pharaoh offered Moses a series of partial concessions to the demand that the entire people go worship God.
Pharaoh offered to let them worship somewhere in Egypt, to not go to far from Egypt, to have only the men go, and finally go without their herds. In this study, we see how Moses responded with an uncompromising attitude, that they would all go, and with all, to where God said to fully serve Him.
The deliverance of Israel from the Egyptian captivity by the mighty hand of God (a statement repeated numerous times in the book of Deuteronomy) is a great demonstration to both the Israelites and the Egyptians that Jehovah God is the true God and creator of all things. In the 10 plagues, God struck directly and repeatedly at the so-called "gods" of Egypt.
