We have four distinct views of Jesus presented in the four gospels. Matthew tells us of the Messiah the was prophesied; Mark tells of Jesus, the son of God; Luke tells us of the perfect man and John presents to us only a few stories selected from Jesus life, but tells them in intimate detail. What a blessing to us to have these four gospels of Jesus Christ!
Acts 2 recorders the very first gospel sermon. The apostle Peter gives four arguments to prove Jesus is the Christ. His miracles, the Old Testament prophecies concerning Him, the fact of the resurrection and His exaltation by God. From these, “We know for certain that Jesus is the Christ!”
The Parable of the Sower and the Parable of the Tares: two of Jesus’ longer and best known parables. These parables tell of the effects of the gospel in a sinful world and how other things compete with the gospel for the souls of men.
